THERMAL CONTROL TEAM (GTER)

GTER - INFRASTRUCTURE


Keeping the good results gotten in its research and design, the GTER (Group of Thermal Control of the INPE/DMC) acquires equipments of the industry and develops its resources of infrastructure, besides using the available infrastructure in the LIT.

With 2 Chambers of Thermal-Vaccum (1mx1m and another one of 250 liters) installed in the LIT, and a Condution Meter, the group keeps the tradition of research and development supporting the industry, University and other centers of research.

The Chamber of Thermal Vacuum of 1mx1m is used for tests of devices development and thermal control subsystems. The Chamber of Thermal Vacuum of 250 liters, manufactured in Brazil, is used for tests of small assemblies.

The Condutin Meter, equipment of measure of thermal condutividade of materials and conductances of contact and assemblies were, in recent past, object of study and research. To the end, the condution meter was made in the INPE, with support of the FAPESP

For the thermal analysis, the GTER developed, implemented and characterized (Satellites SCD1 and SCD2) software PCTER, for platforms OpenVMS and D.O.S. An updated version is in phase of migration for Linux and Windows.

Currently, the GTER is in phase of implementation of a small cluster Linux, to speed up the processing of some applications.
